Foot and Ankle
Our orthopaedic patients arrive in our offices with a wide range of problems, from severe trauma and sports injuries to arthritis and complex deformities. The same doctors who treat Division I athletes - including the Wake Forest soccer and football teams - will oversee your treatment.
Our team has treated some of the most complex cases in the region, which makes our foot and ankle specialists the best choice for even the most basic care.
Advanced Foot and Ankle Treatments
The foot and ankle team at Wake Forest Baptist Health offers the most complete menu of treatment options, including the most advanced surgeries and techniques available. We:
- Are the only practice in the Winston-Salem area that performs complex deformity corrections with external fixators
- Offer ankle replacement surgery and complex fusions with the latest reconstructive procedures
- Are one of the few practices that offer minimally-invasive repairs of and Achilles tendon ruptures and calcaneal fractures
Limited and minimally-invasive surgeries allow for faster recoveries with smaller incisions and less trauma to soft tissue. When patients qualify, it's an excellent option to get them back on their feet quickly.

We Aim for Fast Recoveries
Our highly-trained casting techs work with the latest brace options to get patients out of their casts earlier. The braces we use allow patients to begin motion and rehabilitation faster. We make every effort to prevent patients from being immobilized in casts for long periods of time after an injury.
Your recovery doesn't begin or end with immobilization or surgery. Your doctor may prescribe physical therapy before and/or after surgery, or as an integral part of your non-operative treatment plan. We use the latest techniques in physical therapy to get patients back to their daily lives safely and quickly. That's where our physicians join forces with our expert in-house physical therapy team.
Our physical therapists work at CompRehab Plaza, one of the most sophisticated outpatient rehabilitation centers in the region.
