Sports Medicine Fellowship Programs
At Wake Forest Baptist Health, we are educating tomorrow's leaders in two separate Sports Medicine Fellowship Programs, one for family medicine physicians and one for orthopaedic surgeons.
Students compete for admittance because they want to train with the nation's top experts. Members of our own highly-specialized physician team are graduates of these types of programs.
How do the fellowship programs help patients?
The same physicians who treat patients are sought-after leaders in the sports medicine field. They are training the next generation in the most complicated techniques and latest research. Fellows benefit from:
- Clinical experience with a wide range of athletes, from Division I student-athletes from Wake Forest University to professional dancers in training at the North Carolina School of the Arts
- One-on-one faculty supervision in the operating room and outpatient areas
- Involvement in clinical research to produce at least one major publication or scientific presentation in the field of sports medicine
