Sports Medicine Treatments
As sports medicine experts, we know what's on the line when an athlete has an injury. Our goal is to keep you active at the highest level and return you to your prior level of performance as quickly and as safely as possible.
We offer a wide range of non-operative treatments, from injection therapies to physical therapy programs. And if surgery is necessary, our specialists are trained in the latest minimally-invasive procedures for speedier and easier recoveries.
Specialized Treatment Plans
We pride ourselves in evaluating the entire athlete, not just the injury. We work with you to maximize performance and minimize recovery time and future injury. We develop a specialized treatment plan for every patient that includes:
- Injury evaluation (X-rays, MRI scans, ultrasound, bone scans)
- Treatment plan
- Rehabilitation
- Prevention from future injury
Non-surgical Treatment Options
Our sports medicine specialists have a strong commitment to non-operative treatments. We understand that not every injury requires surgery - immediately, or at all. Depending on your injury, your treatment may include physical therapy, injection therapy or a combination of both.
Surgical Procedures
Conservative, non-operative options don't work for every injury. If they are not successful, or if immediate surgery is necessary, we offer the latest in minimally-invasive techniques to cut down on recovery times. Our goal is to get you back to the game as soon as possible, so we use the latest technology and research in the field.
Consider:
- Our digital operating rooms have cutting-edge technology for the latest and most complicated arthroscopic procedures.
- We are one of the few East Coast hospitals that perform advanced hip arthroscopy and offer advanced options for arthroscopy around the shoulder.
- We emphasize tissue and joint preservation. We perform meniscal repair and transplantation, which delay joint replacements and keep patients active to an older age.
Rehabilitation
Your recovery doesn't begin or end with treatment. Your doctor may prescribe physical therapy before and/or after surgery, or as an integral part of your non-operative treatment plan.
We use the latest techniques in physical therapy to get patients back to their sport safely and quickly. That's where our physicians join forces with our expert in-house physical therapy team. They work closely with each other to assess your progress and make changes to your routine as necessary.
Our physical therapists work at CompRehab Plaza, one of the most sophisticated outpatient rehabilitation centers in the region.
