Neurorehabilitation Community Exercise Program
Outpatient Neurorehabilitation Therapy at CompRehab Plaza offers an exercise option for people in the community who have experienced a stroke, head injury, spinal cord injury, multi-trauma or an amputation, or those who have multiple sclerosis, peripheral neuropathy or general deconditioning resulting from multiple medical problems.
Convenience & Security
The outpatient Neurorehabilitation Therapy Program at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center has opened access to their state-of-the-art equipment as an alternative to community exercise facilities. This program, located at CompRehab Plaza on Miller Street (just off the Cloverdale Exit on Business 40), features convenient parking and handicapped accessible facilities. Using Neurorehab's equipment in your exercise program offers the security that comes with knowing a trained rehab physical or occupational therapist or technician will be on-site to ensure your safety as you use the equipment. In addition, each participant will be given a folder to keep track of his or her exercise plan and progression.
All participants in the Neurorehab Community Exercise Program will be trained to use the equipment. Although this program is ideally suited for people who can use the equipment independently, others who need assistance may bring a friend or family member to help them. In addition to past and current Neurorehab patients, community members who recognize the value of exercising at a rehab facility may also use the equipment. To participate in the program, a diagnosis consistent with other Neurorehab patients will be required. If you have not been seeing a therapist at CompRehab, a one-time fee of $30 for evaluation and training will be charged. All participants will be required to have medical information and release forms signed by their physician before beginning their exercise program.
Neurorehab's exercise equipment is available for unlimited use from 8:30 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday. The cost per person is $30 per month
