I have been working in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at Wake Forest School of Medicine as a lab tech since January 1994, and have been with Dr. Jones since March 2006. Previously, I was involved in behavioral studies looking at the effects of drugs of abuse on learning/memory and reward. Since working for Dr. Jones I have learned several new techniques, such as voltammetry (anesthetized in vivo and in vitro), HPLC, alcohol and protein assays. I am working mostly on projects looking at the neurobiology of cocaine addiction and alcohol abuse. Several years ago I was able to go back to school while still working here, to get a second degree in photography, and I hope to have my own studio some day.
