Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center offers a full compliment of screening, diagnostic and interventional radiological technologies. Among the services available are:
- Advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) techniques including:
- MR Spectroscopy for measuring biochemical behavior of tumors and metabolic disease
- Functional MR to detect and map brain activity
- Diffusion/perfusion MR to measure blood flow and cellular function
- Computed Tomography using 64-slice technology, suitable for advanced cardiovascular and neurologic applications such as:
- Coronary artery CT angiography and calcium scoring
- Carotid CT angiography
- Cerebral and Peripheral Angiography, including stenting of blocked carotid, renal and lower extremity blood vessels
- A wide range of percutaneous therapeutic techniques, including:
- Radiofrequency ablation of tumors under CT guidance
- Fine-needle biopsies

- Varicose vein ablation
- Embolization of uterine fibroid tumors
- Stenting of carotid, renal and other arteries
- Coiling of cerebral aneurysms

- Positron Emission Tomography (PET) with CT utilizing conventional FDG-18 as well as a range of other isotopes
