Inpatient Rehabilitation & Acquired Brain Injury Units
Mr. Chris Handy, volunteer handler, for both Mollie Brown and Harper Brown. In March of 2007, Chris and Mollie Brown began providing Animal Assisted Activity/Therapy (AAA/T) to the patients and their families on the Inpatient Rehab and Acquired Brain Injury units. In November of 2010, Harper Brown was added to the AAA/T team. Mollie Brown and Harper Brown have been certified as an individual team as well as both dogs have been certified by Therapy Dogs International (TDI) as a two dog team. This second certification of a two dog team offers additional therapeutic interventions available to the patients and their families as part of the rehabilitation plan of care for the persons served.
