Shannon is originally from Charlotte, NC. She earned her B.S. degree from UNC/Greensboro in Leisure Studies with a concentration in Therapeutic recreation.
She has been employed with Wake Forest Baptist Health since July 2000. Shannon also has experience in working in the community mental health setting prior to WFBMC, and has worked with the populations of severe and persistent mentally ill, developmental disabilities, and survivors of traumatic brain injury.
Shannon is a member of NCRTA, and past Member-at-Large on their Board of Directors. She also serves on the conference planning committee, and has been the association's Historian since June 2000.
