Geriatrics Updates

The J. Paul Sticht Center on Aging and Rehabilitation promotes the health and independence of older adults by fostering multi-disciplinary collaboration in basic and clinical research, research training, professional education and community outreach. These programs bring together the talents of more than 85 faculty members from 21 departments, institutes and centers.

Aging research at Wake Forest Baptist is broad-based and well supported and includes more than 70 federally-funded investigator initiated grants and nine research training awards.

Intranasal Insulin Therapy for Alzheimer's Disease 

Suzanne Craft, PhD, professor of gerontology and geriatric medicine and research director of the J. Paul Sticht Center on Aging, recently received a $7.9 million National Institutes of Health grant to lead a multi-center study investigating the use of intranasal insulin in individuals with mild cognitive impairment or mild Alzheimer's dementia
