The Heart Center of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center offers the latest in patient care, research and training in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease.
Researching vascular stents, determining genetic markers that could lead to the prevention of heart disease, providing the best treatments for atrial fibrillation, studying the impact of obesity on heart disease, repairing congenital defects, using imaging to predict and, therefore, prevent future cardiovascular events—these are just a few examples of the commitment and strengths of our Wake Forest Baptist Heart Center team to provide patients and the community with the highest level of expertise, training and treatments.

Outstanding results in cardiac surgery with the highest rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.

An advanced cardiac care and heart transplantation program with an overall survival rate of 95 percent post-transplant.

Coordination of our interventional services and our heart failure team offering patients the latest in assist devices.

The growth of our adult structural heart program. We perform the most percutaneous PFO/ASD closures in our region.

A door-to-balloon time that far surpasses the American College of Cardiology recommendation at just over 60 minutes. This is in conjunction with our regional role in providing timely care of STEMI patients and our participation in the North Carolina Reperfusion of Acute Myocardial Infarction in North Carolina Emergency Departments—Emergency Response (NC RACE-ER).
