Current Research

Anesthesiology research efforts continue in the fields of physiology of the aging heart and diastolic dysfunction, pain management, opioid pharmacology, and developmental spinal physiology, with the faculty being very productive in their NIH- and Industry-funded efforts. Patient recruitment also continues for the North American Malignant Hyperthermia Registry and genomic analysis for susceptibility to MH. 

We resolve to create an environment that promotes outstanding research which will increase knowledge and improve patient care. This environment will support the recruitment of motivated faculty of the highest caliber and sustain their personal development within the department.
