Mass Spectrometer
Service Charges
All users are charged for services. This charge offsets, in part, the substantial costs of maintaining this facility. Non-institutional users are charged at a higher rate than users located at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and Wake Forest University. Students and postdoctoral fellows can use the mass spectrometers after training and checkout. Discounts are available for overnight and weekend analysis and for large groups of samples analyzed under identical conditions. Questions should be directed to mthomas@wakehealth.edu.

Over the last 5 years the facility has served 49 investigators from 14 Departments. In the last year the Facility processed more than 3,300 billable samples and recorded more than 6,300 spectra. The number of samples did not include analysis of standards and analyses performed in the implementation of new methods.
