After School Advancement Program - ASAP
ASAP is designed to engage academically talented students in higher order thinking and problem-solving activities that are both rigorous and relevant utilizing a collaborative learning approach. Studies indicate that academically talented students have learning needs are not challenged during traditional instructional time. This program provides that opportunity.
The After School Acceleration Program is designed to:
- Engage academically talented students in higher order thinking and problem-solving activities
- Provide rigor and relevance to challenge students in ways that are not always met in the traditional classroom
- To create an environment that takes advantage of the characteristics of Wake Forest School of Medicine’s unique approach to curriculum: critical thinking, a challenging pace, and real-world connections to science, math and related subjects
In applying these principles to a K-12 setting, we build on and expand your student’s grade-level curriculum and, most important, ready upper-elementary students for advanced courses in middle and high school.
