of the Critical Illness, Injury and Recovery Research Center (CIIRRC) is to unite
distinguished, nationally-funded investigators to become a unique and cohesive
venture focused on a Program Project Grant submission. The CIIRRC will
integrate established research programs into multi-departmental and
trans-disciplinary team science by: attracting and training new investigators
in basic and clinical research; connecting with local and national communities;
implementing policy through evidence-based knowledge; leveraging resources
across multiple Departments, Institutes and Centers, and extending value to
other academic medical centers.
aims to develop a team-based, multidisciplinary NIH Program Project grant
within 2-3 years. Membership criteria to
become part of a center includes:
- An expressed interest in improving the
lives of people experiencing critical illness or injury, or recovering from a
critical illness or injury through research, education and/or clinical care.
- An interest in critical illness, injury and recovery research.
interest in contributing to the center by service as a pilot project reviewer,
seminar speaker, community speaker, or mentor.
are encouraged to participate in center activities such as attendance at the
monthly seminars and will be eligible to apply for pilot grant opportunities
within the center as well as access to the center’s biostatistical analysis
