About our Research
The Comprehensive Cancer Center of Wake Forest University (CCCWFU) is a team of nationally and internationally recognized experts committed to developing knowledge to advance cancer prevention and treatment. At the core of our Cancer Center are our people: our faculty and staff at the Medical Center, the WFU University campus and affiliate institutions, as well as our friends and partners.
Our Center builds transdisciplinary, cross-departmental, collaborative teams to advance the science and treatment of cancer. Such collaborative efforts include areas such as drug development, cancer imaging, natural products, cancer genomics, nanotechnology, tumor microenvironment, cancer survivorship and disparities research.
The Center is divided into four programs that facilitate member interactions and collaborations. They are charged with developing the knowledge and collaborations necessary to prevent and cure cancer.
In addition, the Cancer Center has three Centers of Excellence in brain, breast and prostate cancer that foster translational research by bridging basic and population sciences with clinical research.
