About Our Research
The Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center (WFBCCC) is a team of nationally and internationally recognized experts committed to developing knowledge to advance cancer prevention and treatment. The WFBCCC is led by Dr. Boris Pasche, Director. At the core of our Cancer Center are our people: our faculty and staff at the Medical Center, the Wake Forest University campus and affiliate institutions, as well as our friends and partners.
Our Center builds transdisciplinary, cross-departmental, collaborative teams to advance the science and treatment of cancer. Such collaborative efforts include areas such as translation of science from bench to bedside, cancer genomics and precision medicine, cancer imaging, use natural products for treatment and symptom control, nanotechnology, tumor microenvironment, cancer survivorship, and health disparities research.
The Center is divided into four Programs that facilitate member interactions and collaborations. They are charged with developing the knowledge and collaborations necessary to prevent and cure cancer.
In addition, the Cancer Center has 13 Disease-Oriented Teams and a Center of Excellence in brain cancer that foster translational research by bridging basic and population sciences with clinical research.
