Current Research

Dr. D'Agostino has been the Director of the Biostatistics Core since 2004.  He is a Professor in the department of Biostatistical Sciences and Fellow of the American Statistical Association.  He has over 250 peer reviewed publications and has served as the PI, Co-PI and the lead/statistician on numerous federally funded contracts, grants or subcontracts.  He has worked on developing methods for using propensity score techniques in clinical research.  His 1998 Statistics in Medicine paper describing propensity score methods in clinical research has been referenced more than 2500 time.   He has also worked on methods for estimating propensity scores in the presence of missing data.  In addition, he has worked on using propensity score methods to derive data sets that can be used for clinical research when it was not possible to randomize patients.   He is also currently working on research methods to model the probability of long term cardiovascular complications for patients receiving chemotherapy.
