Cell Growth and Survival
The Cell Growth and Survival Program is a highly interactive group of 30 faculty members in the Comprehensive Cancer Center of Wake Forest University. Our Program Members represent many different departments and sections across Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Goals of Research
The goal of the research in the Cell Growth and Survival Program is to determine the basic mechanisms involved in proliferative and cell-death signaling, and develop novel strategies that exploit this understanding to improve anticancer therapy.
The major scientific themes that represent novel contributions to the national cancer effort are:
- Modulation of cancer by natural products
- The tumor microenvironment
- Decisions of cell fate in cancer
