Laboratory Instrumentation and Resources
Our research efforts are greatly enhanced by the generous support from the Kimbrell family, which facilitated the purchasing of a number of instruments over the last years including three mass spectrometers. Our Kimbrell Proteomics Laboratory is currently equipped with an LTQ Orbitrap Velos Pro with ETD capability interfaced with a splitless multi-dimensional nanoLC system (Thermo Fisher/Dionex), a Thermo LTQ ion-trap mass spectrometer coupled to an Ultimate 3000 nanoLC system (Dionex), and an Agilent ESI-TOF instrument for mass spectrometry analysis of proteins and peptides.
Other equipment available for chemical synthesis, tissue culture and processing of the proteomics samples: a Waters Alliance e2695 HPLC with fraction collector, one SpeedVac Concentrator (Thermo Savant SPD 1010), UV-vis spectrophotometer, rotary evaporator, chemical and tissue culture hoods, tissue culture incubators, access to a Thermo Scientific HERAcell 150 Series oxygen control CO2 incubators and hypoxia chambers.
