Laboratory Facilities & Services
The 11-story Hanes Building on the Bowman Gray campus houses many of the basic science academic departments, including Pathology's Section on Tumor Biology.
The section is the home of the Cellular Imaging Core (formerly called MICROMED), which provides equipment and technical support for both confocal and electron microscopy for research and diagnostic purposes throughout the institution. The facility is considered a core laboratory under the Comprehensive Cancer Center grant, providing additional support for microscopy to investigators affiliated with the Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The Cell and Viral Vector Core Lab, directed by Dr. Purnima Dubey, is another core laboratory with Cancer Center support; it is also available to investigators in other departments.
