Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center offers a state of the art program for managing every aspect of vascular disease- defined as disorders of arteries, veins and lymph vessels outside of the heart and brain.
Few centers in the nation provide such expertise and services under one umbrella, dedicated entirely too patient care, education and research in vascular disease.
We have internationally recognized expertise in the diagnosis and management of renovascular hypertension and renal artery aneurismal disease; as well as diagnosis and management of complex aneurismal or occlusive disease of the abdominal or thoracic aorta. We provide both open and endovascular treatment for all aortic diseases.
We also are experts in the management of cerebrovascular disease including the prevention and treatment of strokes or ischemic attacks for both primary and recurrent lesions. We provide both open and catherter based angioplasty and stenting treatment for carotid disease to assure that each patient receives the procedure that will allow for the best outcome possible.
We are able to provide expert diagnostic evaluation of problems with arterial and venous blood flow, difficulty with walking or wound healing related to reduced blood flow ( claudication; rest pain or limb salvage).
