Ralf Huss, MD, PhD, Adjunct Professor

Ralf Huss is currently Adjunct Professor at the Institute for Regenrative Medicine, as well as Professor and Managing Director and Chief Scientific Officer at Apceth Applied Cell Technology. He was previously Vice President of Research at Roche Diagnostic.

Before joining Roche, Dr. Huss received his graduate and post-doctoral training in Immunology and Transplantation Medicine with the Nobel laureates Rolf Zinkernagel in Zurich and E. Donnell Thomas at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle.

Dr. Huss is a board-certified (surgical) pathologist and holds further certifications in molecular pathology and transfusion medicine. He has co-authored more than 100 papers and reviews, mainly in the field of cancer research, stem cell biology and cell therapy. Dr. Huss is Professor of Pathology at the University of Munich and holds various academic positions in Germany and abroad.

In his role as MML site head, Dr. Huss is supporting the Center of Excellence for Tissue Biomarker & Pathology in Penzberg and he is strongly committed to biomarker research & development in Oncology discovery, but also all other disease biology areas. His role and responsibility also includes the technology and portfolio alignment with the Diagnostic business areas to enable Personalized HealthCare strategies and novel enabling technologies.

Born and raised in German, Dr. Huss has also founded some smaller biotech companies and holds various international appointments e.g. with the European Academy of Science and the International Society of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine.
