Women Faculty Achievement; Meet the Leaders; and Mentoring Award Socials

The WHCOE co-sponsors the annual Women Faculty Achievement Social with the WFU Women’s Forum, to celebrate the promotions and other accomplishments of the women faculty.  A booklet is created each year to detail these accomplishments.

Every 18 months to two years, the WHCOE hosts the Meet the Leaders Social - an opportunity for women faculty to meet and network with senior leaders at WFBMC.

The WHCOE offers an annual Mentoring Award to Mentors in the WHCOE Mentoring Program.  Faculty are invited to the Mentoring Award Social to celebrate with the recipient.

Mentoring Program for Women Junior Faculty

Mentors may take advantage of the Mentor Training Program now being offered throughout the year, which includes an orientation session, Mentoring Basics and Mentoring Skill Sets (Career Development, Communication Skills, Management Skills & Time Management).

Women Residents and Fellows Professional Development Program (WRFPDP)

The program for women residents and fellows is still in its infancy but we have held a number of career development events that pertain directly to the reality of transitioning from being house staff to an attending physician. These include a workshop on the pros and cons of working in private practice versus an academic medical center, communication and workplace dynamics, work-life integration and career timelines. These events will be rotated on an annual basis with extra events added as requested.
