From the President

The Medical Alumni Association's Annual Fund effort for 2012-13 is under way, and I hope we can count on all of you to participate. If you haven't received a letter and a phone call from a representative of the Wake Forest School of Medicine recently, you will.
The campaign continues through June 30, 2013. Why is our annual fund so important? Gifts to the annual fund support:
- Medical education, including scholarship and financial assistance-8 percent of the fund is set aside as part of an endowed scholarship that provides substantial support to one member of each current medical school class
- Wonderful educators
- Technological enhancements for teaching and learning
- Curricular innovation
Supporting the Annual Fund is an excellent way to help individual students while also helping the school provide financial aid packages that are competitive with those offered by peer institutions.
Your contribution is an investment that helps to guarantee the future quality and reputation of the school and enhances the reputation of all of us who hold the degree.
Almost as important as what you choose to give is the fact that you participate in supporting the fund. When it comes to annual fund support, our school has one of the highest percentages of alumni participation in the nation, and I encourage each of you to help us retain that point of pride in our school.
To those who already have given in support of the MAA Annual Fund for this year and to all of those who will, thank you!
Sincerely,
Samuel E. Britt II, MD '80
