Graduate School of Arts and Sciences

Through graduate programs in the arts and sciences and the basic medical sciences, the Graduate School expands the frontiers of knowledge and to keep abreast of man's understanding of the rapidly changing human environment. Students are encouraged to develop initiative, resourcefulness and responsibility required of those who become intellectual leaders in their chosen fields of endeavor.

On the Bowman Gray and associated campuses of the School of Medicine, the Graduate School offers PhD programs in 10 disciplines within the biomedical sciences and master of science programs in three areas. These programs provide outstanding opportunities for research collaborations with nationally and internationally recognized faculty members, providing the backbone of each graduate program.

In addition to master’s and PhD programs offered through Graduate School, combined programs also are offered through Wake Forest’s School of Medicine (MD/PhD), Babcock Graduate School of Management (PhD/MBA) and Wayne Calloway School of Business and Accountancy (MS in Accountancy). Also, Wake Forest and Virginia Tech have collaborated to form the Virginia Tech-Wake Forest University School of Biomedical Engineering and Sciences (SBES).
