Academic Experience
Residents of the program participate in a wide array of both didactic and practical, clinical instruction. The didactic experience involves weekly lectures in subjects including, but not limited to:
- Oral surgery
- Medical diagnosis
- Anesthesia
- Implant therapy
- Endodontics
- Periodontics
- Orthodontics
- Practice management
These lectures are conducted by Dentistry faculty and Medical Center physicians, as well as visiting specialists. Once a month, both residents and faculty also convene for an evening of literature review as a group study club.
Clinical experiences include participation in multidisciplinary teams for both cleft lip/palate and craniofacial patients. Residents also rotate through a number of other services, providing care as a member of that particular service. An example of the current rotation schedule may be found below:

If one of the hospital residents is not available, a resident's schedule at Comp Rehab will usually be altered to have 2 residents at the hospital.
