Meet the Grahams
Meet the Grahams

Welcome to the James H. Graham, MD & Gloria F. Graham, MD Dermatopathology Library! The Dermatopathology library was created from a generous donation by Drs. James H. Graham, MD and Gloria F. Graham, MD to the Department of Dermatology at Wake Forest School of Medicine.

About the Collection

The Graham’s goal in donating this one-of-a-kind collection to the Department of Dermatology was to create an online library and resource so that physicians, researchers and students around the world could benefit from it. The Graham Dermatopathology Library is the result of decades of painstaking collecting and categorizing of tens of thousands of dermatopathology slides, going back to the old “lantern” slides. In addition to the slides, the Graham Library includes a research microscope, Dr. James H. Graham’s lecture materials, and scores of dermatology and dermatopathology textbooks.

Some of the slides had faded labels, or the slides themselves had faded. It took a dedicated team hundreds of hours to review, restore and digitize the collection to make it available as a teaching tool well into the future.

We are most grateful to Dr. James H. Graham and Dr. Gloria F. Graham for their foresight, and for their generosity in entrusting this unique resource to us. We also owe a large debt of gratitude to the team who devoted themselves to making the Grahams’ dream a reality:

  • Dr. Steven Feldman
  • Terri Welfare
  • Dr. Rita Pichardo-Geisinger
  • Will Willner
  • Megan Kinney
  • Dr. Omar Sangueza
  • Charles Sangueza
  • Vishal Khanna
  • Deanna Woodworth
  • Emily Tollson
  • Nick Rassette
  • Elizabeth Jackman
  • Tom Roth

Thanks are extended to these people for their efforts in establishing the James H. Graham, MD & Gloria F. Graham, MD Dermatopathology Library and the Clinical & Dermatopathological Digital Image Collection.
