Emergency Medicine
The department of emergency medicine (EM) is a full academic department within the Wake Forest University School of Medicine (WFUSOM) located in Winston-Salem, NC. Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center (WFBMC) is the regions only tertiary care center and the teaching hospital for the WFUSOM. The WFBMC emergency department is a level one adult and pediatric trauma center, accreditated chest pain and stroke center, and cares for the entire spectrum of human illness. Wake Forest clinical affiliate faculty staff several emergency departments across the "Piedmont Triad" including the Greensboro area, Lexington, and North Wilkesboro.
