Medical Student Rotation
Welcome to the Department of Emergency Medicine’s Medical Student Clerkship Page.
The Department of EM offers a mandatory clerkship to 3rd year Wake Forest students, an acting internship to 4th year Wake Forest students, and a pediatric EM elective for 4th year Wake Forest students. We also welcome visiting students interested in our EM residency program.
We are dedicated to maintaining the educational value of the student rotations and follow the national guidelines on these clerkships. Authors of the 4th year medical student national curriculum, the 3rd year medical student national curriculum and the pediatric EM student elective national curriculum reside at Wake Forest and oversee these clerkships.
Every EM faculty at Wake Forest participates in the clerkship, both on clinical shifts and in the didactic arena. Senior residents undergo training in “Resident as Teacher” to enhance the educational value to the students. All educational materials are available on a central website.
Please click on the appropriate rotation tab to learn more about the specific offerings.
