Interests

Dr. Nguyen is a social scientist with a wide range of interests in the area of health disparities and gerontology. She has investigated the effects of physical health on cognitive performance and overall quality of life, depressive symptoms and increased risk of mortality, and psychometric properties of questionnaires used in minority groups. More recently, her work has begun to focus on functional competency and well-being among older Hispanic Americans and the elderly in Vietnam.
