Fellowship Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria for Surgical Critical Care Fellow Appointment

 

One Year Training in Surgical Critical Care:

Candidates for the one year Surgical Critical Care Fellowship must have completed at least three clinical years of an ACGME-accredited graduate educational program in the disciplines of general surgery, neurosurgery, urology, or obstetrics and gynecology.  Candidates that have not completed their respective ACGME-accredited program must still be enrolled and have plans to return after completion of Surgical Critical Care training.  Candidates must be eligible for obtaining a medical license in the state of North Carolina.  Applicants should have an interest in Surgical Critical Care and be committed to become leaders in the field.

Two Year Training in Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery:

Candidates for the two year Surgical Critical Care and AAST-accredited Acute Care Surgery Fellowship must have completed an ACGME-accredited graduate educational program in the discipline of general surgery and be board eligible or certified by the American Board of Surgery.  Candidates must be eligible for obtaining a medical license in the state of North Carolina.  Applicants should have an interest in Surgical Critical Care, Trauma Surgery, and Emergency General Surgery and be committed to become leaders in the field.
