Transition to Practice Program

How to apply

The Wake Forest University TTP Program

Is a one year program offered to those who are finishing or have finished an ACGME accredited general surgery training program. We offer additional training in general surgery including emergency general surgery and trauma as well as aspects of minimally invasive surgery, oncologic surgery and endocrine surgery. Experiences in surgical critical care, obstetrics/gynecology, and surgical practice in underserved international settings are also offered. The aim of the program is to prepare graduates for the practice of general surgery whether it be in private practice, an academic medical center, or an international setting. The program is not designed to provide remediation but to provide an environment for the development and maturation of already excellent surgical skills. It is expected that graduates will be highly sought after by those recruiting general surgeons in the private, academic, or international practice arenas.

Wake Forest University School of Medicine is an Affirmative Action Equal Opportunity employer.
