Section on Hematology and Oncology

Section on Hematology & Oncology

The Section’s objective is to provide physicians with the knowledge and skills needed to function as a specialist in Hematology and Oncology.  This includes the acquisition of clinical skills as well as research and analytic skills and methods. In the past, it has been generally accepted that fellows seeking Hematology certification did so in addition to their primary interest in clinical Oncology.  With the added emphasis on non‑malignant hematology, which has occurred over the last few years, we see a shift in the interests of incoming fellows to a more balanced approach to the joint Hematology and Oncology Fellowship.
