Melin Susan A

Dr. Susan A. Melin was appointed as Associate Director of the Hematology and Oncology Fellowship Training Program in 2008.  Dr. Melin is a graduate of Wake Forest School of Medicine, formerly known as Bowman Gray School of Medicine.  She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine in Norfolk, Virginia and then returned to North Carolina to complete a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at UNC in Chapel Hill.  Dr. Melin is currently an Associate Professor at Wake Forest and is ABIM certified in both Hematology and Medical Oncology. 

Dr. Melin's clinical interests and research are in breast cancer.  In addition to her own clinic, Dr. Melin is one of the attending physicians in a weekly Fellow's Clinic as well as attending on the in-patient and Consult services for the Section on Hematology and Oncology.  She is very involved in graduate medical education and is the Director of the Oncology Core Curriculum series.  Education of fellows is a priority with Dr. Melin.  She takes a visionary approach to implementation of ongoing improvements to the Wake Forest Hematology and Oncology Fellowship Training Program.
