Jason Hopper

When looking for a residency, my priorities were to find a program with strong clinical training to prepare me for my future career along with a vibrant scholarly environment in which to continue my pursuits in academic research. While these characteristics are certainly alive and well, the most enduring aspect of Wake Forest (and what clinched my decision to come here) is that the program manages to maintain these high standards but remain an exceedingly collegial and friendly environment. The program is focused on the success of each and every resident, advocates for them across the institution, and responds to feedback. These traits were palpable on my interview day and have remained true throughout my residency. My wife and I have loved our time here in Winston Salem and are thankful each and every day for coming to Wake Forest.

Jason Hopper is originally from Danville, KY and obtained his medical and undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky. He plans to pursue a fellowship in cardiology after chief year. His wife, Samantha, works as a physical therapist at a local rehab facility. They love to enjoy the abundant green space in the area through golfing, trail running with their dog Carter, or hiking.
