Kunal Sangal

Kunal Sangal, MD

Having been born in Detroit, raised in Oklahoma and spent my educational years in Boston, coming to Wake Forest and Winston-Salem, North Carolina was quite the change. From day one, I knew that the change was exactly what I wanted and needed. The camaraderie is second to none and the Internal Medicine program specifically provides endless clinical, teaching and research opportunities. I truly felt I was advancing as a doctor with colleagues that quickly became family. Living in Winston-Salem and North Carolina is fantastic. Regardless of the season, I could experience the city-life, hiking, skiing or the beach with close distance.

Kunal Sangal is from Tulsa, Oklahoma and went to Boston University for both undergraduate education and medical school. He wishes to pursue a career in academic cardiology potentially specifically focusing on the interventional and structural aspects. His current research includes TransCatheter Aortic Valve Replacement and Atrial/Ventricular coupling. Kunal’s hobbies include anything with his dog Albus, nutrition and fitness, traveling and spending time exploring North Carolina.
