FAQ for Medical School Applicants
Does Wake Forest School of Medicine offer tours or visits?
The School of Medicine welcomes visitors to the medical
center campus and aims to accommodate at the requester's convenience. We offer
formal tours given by medical students during our interview season, early
September through mid-March, at 1:00pm and 2:00pm on weekdays. At other times,
tours are assembled at the convenience of the medical student and their
schedule and visitor requests are grouped, if possible. Please email the Office
of Student Admissions at least a week in advance (firstname.lastname@example.org) to
arrange your tour.
Do you accept AP credit?
Advanced Placement (AP) courses are accepted as long as they
appear on your official transcript. If you have received AP credit for any of
the required science courses, we strongly advise you to consider taking
advanced level college courses to enhance your academic preparation for medical
school. Your AP courses must meet the equivalent semester hours required
including any of the associating labs.
Do you accept prerequisite courses from a community college?
We will accept prerequisites from a community college;
however, please note that we feel that students may be better prepared for the
MCAT if courses are taken at a 4-year institution.
Does your address not need a street number?
No, the medical center has its own zip code. If you include
the last 4 digits in the zip code - 1090 - it will come directly to us.
