Betty started working in Student Affairs in 2009. She serves
as the Year 3 Project Coordinator where she advocates for students by fostering
mentoring relationships between students and the community. She plays an integral role in planning Y3
Boot Camp which prepares students as they transition from the classroom to the
clinical setting. Betty coordinates completion
of all student required paperwork:
- Wake One training
- Novant Health Dimensions training and scrub
- She facilitates the issuing of pagers, scrubs,
ID Badges and parking access at WFHS and Novant Health.
- She processes Travel authorizations for school
- Serves as the staff liaison for the Yearbook
- Assists students with room reservations.
Betty collaborates with other Student Affairs Project
Coordinators in coordinating, planning and implementing school sponsored events
such as White Coat Ceremony, Orientations, Match Day and Graduation activities.
Betty has been dedicated to supporting the medical student body
of WFSOM for the past 22 years. She strives
to not only help students but the community as well by volunteering at the
homeless shelter, her church’s bi-weekly food distributions, Samaritan’s Purse
Shoebox Ministry Processing Center and annual mission trips with Partners in
