Where do I order tickets?

Online ticket registration (www.wfu.edu/commencement/tickets)
opens at 9:00 a.m. on March 3, 2014, and closes at 5:00 p.m. on
May 13, 2014. Only one (1) registration form is accepted for
each graduate. Once an order is submitted online, subsequent
attempts to register will not be accepted by the online
registration page.

Invitations for the Graduation Banquet will be mailed to
Graduate's mailbox at the Medical Center. RSVPs will be included. 

Invitations for the Graduation Luncheon, sponsored by the
Medical Alumni Association, will be mailed. For questions,

How many tickets will I receive?

Baccalaureate Service
- There is a limit of three (3) tickets per
graduate.  Seating is on a first-come basis.

Hooding Ceremony - Tickets are not required.  Seating is unlimited

Commencement Ceremony at Hearn Plaza - There is a limit
of eight (8) tickets per graduate.

M.D. Diploma Ceremony - There is a limit of five (5) tickets per
graduate.  Limited overflow seating is available on a first-come basis.

Can I order extra tickets?

Students needing additional tickets are free to ask classmates who
do not need all their tickets to order the maximum and share their extras.
Students need to make these arrangements themselves.

Is there a charge for regalia?

The Medical School rents regalia for graduates, at no cost to the graduate.
However, if regalia is not returned by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 19, you
may be assessed a late fee, and your Residency paperwork will not be
mailed to your Residency Program.

If you would like to purchase regalia, you may contact the Office of
Student Services.

Where do I pick up my tickets and regalia?

Your cap, gown, tassel, and tickets will be available for pickup in the Office
of Student Services on Thursday, May 15 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and on
Friday, May 16 from 9:00 am - 12:00, Noon. You will receive your hood at
the Hooding Ceremony on Sunday, May 18th.

Where do I return my regalia?

Staff from the University Bookstore will be on hand at Brendle Recital Hall
immediately following the MD Diploma Cermony to collect regalia. If
regalia is not turned in,you may be assessed a late fee, and your Residency
paperwork will not be mailed to your Residency Program.

Who will receive awards at the Graduation Banquet?

Members of the Class of 2014, Faculty, and House Officers will be recognized.

Can I bring a guest who arrives at the last minute to the Banquet even
though I have not RSVP'd?

Unfortunately, we will be unable to accommodate last minute guests due to the
caterer's deadline. It is imperative to RSVP by May 9th.

Where will I park for the Banquet?

Downtown Winston-Salem Parking Guide

Located directly across from the Benton Convention Center is the
6th/Cherry - Trade Parking Deck.  Both structures are joined by a covered
bridge making for easy access into the Convention Center.

Downtown Winston-Salem offers multiple options for on- & off-street parking.

What time and where do I line up for the Ceremonies?

Baccalaureate Service (optional)
Assemble in cap and gown no later than 10:30 a.m. in front of the
Subway on Hearn Plaza. You do not need to line up in alphabetical order.

Hooding Ceremony

Assemble in cap and gown no later than 3:30 p.m. in front of the
Bookstore on Hearn Plaza.  Look for the M.D. Lineup Sign. Staff will
assist you with the correct lineup order.

Commencement Ceremony at Hearn Plaza

Assemble in cap, gown and hood no later than 8:30 a.m. between Davis
and Taylor Residence Halls at the appropriate degree sign. Staff will assist
you with the correct lineup order.

M.D. Diploma Ceremony

Immediately following the Commencement on the Quad, Marshalls will lead
Faculty and graduates to Brendle Recital Hall at The Scales Fine Arts Center.
You should remain in alphabetical order during the transmigration. The Diploma
Ceremony will begin as soon as Dr. McConnell arrives.

How long does the ceremony last?

Baccalaureate Service -
approximately one hour

Hooding Ceremony - approximately one hour

Commencement Ceremony at Hearn Plaza and M.D. Diploma Ceremony -
approximately two hours and forty five minutes combined

Where do I park for the Commencement & Diploma Ceremonies?

On-campus parking will be limited, and every vehicle must have a Commencement
parking pass to enter campus on Monday morning. University police will direct
guests to available parking. Additional free parking will be available at BB&T
Field. No pass is needed at the stadium and shuttles will run continuously to and
from campus beginning at 7:00 a.m. Either a Commencement ticket or a Wake
Forest ID is required to ride the shuttle. Two (2) parking passes will be included
with each graduate's ticket order.

Is there handicapped parking?

Yes.  One (1) parking pass may be exchanged for one (1) Special Needs
parking pass at ticket pickup.

What happens in the event of rain?

If rain is likely, University officials will announce a decision regarding the
rain plan on the home page of the commencement website on a voicemail
message at 336-758-5821, and on local radio (100 AM, 88.5 FM) & television (WXII, Channel 12) stations.
