Julie Johnson

Julie Johnson joined the Student Affairs team in 2013, and serves as Project Coordinator for Year 4. Julie assists the students in preparing for their final year of medical school and beyond.  She provides students with resources and information needed in the final year such as:

  • Implements key activities related to the residency process, including assisting students with timelines in accordance with residency application deadlines, policies and procedures
  • Organizes workshops for students focusing on  preparing a CV, Personal Statement, and interview preparations
  • Acts as a liaison to coordinate faculty and staff in the areas of career planning, advising, and mentoring; including coordination of MSPE appointments with Advanced Career Advisors
  • Staff contact for ERAS token process and ERAS questions
  • Implements MSPE letter process and oversees final MSPE upload to ERAS
  • Coordination of Match Day and Match Day luncheon
  • Coordination of Graduation Weekend; including Hooding, GradFest, and Commencement
  • Student Affairs support for the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS)
Julie seeks to maintain the professionalism and confidentiality each student deserves.  She desires to meet their needs as a senior medical student and preparing them well for their future professions.

Julie first came to the Medical Center in 1995 in the Department of Ophthalmology.  She joined the Department of Student Admissions in 1998 where she remained until 2013.  In her free time, Julie enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 adult children, making crafts and watching Fixer Upper.
