All candidates applying to the Nurse Anesthesia Program must also make separate application to the Graduate School of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  Admission to the Graduate School for the Master of Science in Nursing Program without academic provision is required in order to complete the application process and be considered for a personal interview.

Following application, candidates' credentials are reviewed, with particular attention to the prerequisites noted on the Entrance Requirements page.  Candidates considered "most qualified" will be invited for a personal interview. Those not meeting the prerequisites, or who have been denied admission following two previous interviews, may be declined an invitation to interview.  Due to limited space availability, even some who meet the prerequisites may not be invited to interview if their qualifications are not among the most competitive.

The most qualified applicants are invited to a personal interview with the selection committee in November with selections for the program made by January for admission the following August.  Due to the limited number of student positions, not all qualified candidates can be admitted.  Therefore, applicants who wish to reapply the following year may do so by updating their application.

The Admissions Committee of the Nurse Anesthesia Program and the Graduate School of UNCG review the credentials of each applicant.  Final selection is based upon many factors; no single criterion has a decisive influence on the applicant’s acceptability.  Selection of candidates for interview or program admission will also be based upon qualities of professionalism and communication with the program during the application and interview process.  Once accepted, the student must progress through the program in a sequential manner.
