PhD Selected for the Next ELAM Program
The Office of Women in Medicine and
Science (OWIMS) would like to congratulate Dr. Kathy Poehling on her recent
graduation from the Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic
Medicine (ELAM) Program for Women, and Dr. Alexander-Miller on her acceptance
as a Fellow in in the 2016-2017 ELAM class!

The ELAM program is a year-long,
part-time fellowship for women faculty in schools of medicine, dentistry
and public health, dedicated to developing the professional and personal skills
required to lead and manage in today's complex health care environment, with
special attention to the unique challenges facing women in leadership
positions. Each fellow is supported by the Dean in her nomination for the
program and continued mentorship. One aspect of this relationship is the
curricular requirement to conduct an Institutional Action Project, designed to
address a strategic institutional priority, developed in collaboration with
