OWIMS Departmental Liaison Program
Departmental Liaisons serve as a connection between OWIMS and Departments within WFBMC.
The goals in establishing liaisons within each department are to:
- Assist in the recruitment of women faculty. Departmental Liaisons notify OWIMS when women faculty candidates are being interviewed in their department, so someone from OWIMS can either be included in the interview process or we can ensure that written material on the OWIMS is given to candidates.
- Facilitate the development of women faculty in each department. Encourage women faculty in each department to attend OWIMS functions, by making announcements at faculty meetings or by posting and forwarding event notices to the relevant audience.
- Facilitate the OWIMS Women Junior Faculty Mentoring Program by offering the names of strong Mentors within the Department or by telling women faculty about the Program.
- bring to OWIMS any concerns about mentoring of women faculty and leadership roles for women in the department.
2017-2018 Departmental Liaison: Appointments will run from September to August and will be renewed annually.
