OWIMS Departmental Liaison Program
Departmental Liaisons serve as a connection between OWIMS and Departments within WFBMC.
The goals in establishing liaisons with each department are to:
- assist in the recruitment of women faculty. Departmental Liaisons notify the OWIMS Leadership & Mentoring Committee when women faculty candidates are being interviewed in their department, so someone from OWIMS can either be included in the interview process or we can ensure that written material on the OWIMS is given to candidates.
- encourage women faculty in each department to attend OWIMS functions, by making announcements at faculty meetings or by posting and forwarding event notices to the relevant audience.
- bring to the OWIMS Leadership and Mentoring Committee any concerns about mentoring of women faculty and leadership roles for women in the department.
2013-2014 Departmental Liaison: Appointments will run from September to August and will be renewed annually.
