Thank you for visiting the Office of Women in Medicine and Science Donation Page. We appreciate your interest and hope you decide to help us impact the health and professional development of women by making a donation to the Center.
The mission of OWIMS are to:
- foster and facilitate excellence and innovation in women's health research;
- to enhance the recruitment, rentention, professional development, and promotion of women faculty; &
- to provide education about issues and research in women's health.
To accomplish our missions we have a Research Program, a Leadership & Mentoring Program, and an Outreach Program. Each of these Programs is engaged in providing educational programs and enrichment opportunities.
Research
- Sponsorship of the Women’s Health Seminar Series and Women's Health Research Day
- Sponsorship of research poster awards to Medical Students, Residents and Faculty
- Funding of women's Health pilot grants: $15,000 minimum to fund one project (donations collected until total is reached)
Leadership
- Scholarships to female faculty to attend national professional development meetings/ workshops/training sessions, for instance AAMC; ELAM; and SELAM
- Sponsorship of professional development workshops at WFSM for female faculty, residents & staff and women in the community
- Purchase of mentoring materials for Women Junior Faculty Mentoring Program participants and general professional development materials for women faculty
Outreach
- Fund medical education workshops for healthcare providers
- Fund community outreach opportunities
