Apply

 Qualified applicants should apply through the Central Application Service provided by the Ophthalmology Match Program, www.sfmatch.org. Our deadline for applications is Oct 1st of each year. Applicants will be notified if invited for an interview. Applicants accepted into the program must successfully complete an ACGME approved internship (PGY-1 year) prior to starting their residency training.

Interviews

Interview Dates for 2011: October 14, October 15, October 28, October 29, November 11, November 12.

A typical interview day would last from either 12pm to 5pm on a Friday or 8am to noon on a Saturday. It will include an introduction to the program from the residency director, personal interviews with the faculty faculty, lunch and informal time with current residents, and tour of the medical center. There will be an informal social on Friday evening that is optional to attend. You will be notified of the time and place when your interview is scheduled.

Driving directions from I-40 Business West:
Take Interstate 40 Business East to Winston-Salem. Take the First Street/Hawthorne Road Exit and at the bottom of the ramp at the stoplight, take a left onto First Street. At the next stoplight, take a left onto Hawthorne Road. Proceed straight on Hawthorne Road through one stoplight. At the second stoplight, take a right onto Medical Center Boulevard. Keep straight on Medical Center Boulevard until you arrive at the Patient/Visitor Parking Deck located on the right. Park in the parking deck and proceed into the Janeway Clinical Sciences Tower. Take the elevator up to the 6th floor where the Wake Forest Eye Center is located.

Driving directions from I-40-Business East:
Take Interstate 40 Business West to Winston-Salem. Take the Cloverdale/Baptist Hospital Road Exit and at the bottom of the ramp at the stoplight, proceed straight onto Medical Center Boulevard. Proceed straight on Medical Center Boulevard until you arrive at the Patient/Visitor Parking Deck located on the left. Park in the parking deck and proceed into the Janeway Clinical Sciences Tower. The Piedmont Triad International Airport located in Greensboro, NC is less than 30 minutes away from Winston-Salem. Charlotte Douglas Airport is 1 ½ hours from Winston-Salem and Raleigh-Durham International is ~2 hours away.
