Physician Scientist Residency Training Program
Grants
Our physician scientists have the opportunity to write, submit, and revise research grants. Physician scientists at Wake Forest University Department of Orthopaedic Surgery have successfully been awarded over $250,000 in research funding during their residency training period. In particular, physician scientists have the opportunity to serve as principal investigators for their research proposals under the mentorship of experienced basic science and clinical faculty.
In the past, physician scientist have been awarded research funding from the following organizations:

- Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation
- American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine
- Arthroscopy Association of North America
- American Society for Surgery of the Hand
- Scoliosis Research Society
