Jonathan Barnwell, MD

Research Focus 

Since his arrival at Wake Forest University, Dr. Barnwell has undertaken an array of projects that aim to promote understanding of peripheral nerve injury and provide a basis for novel regenerative strategies for peripheral nerve repair. He has had active involvement in pre-clinical studies of a keratin-based nerve conduit, allowing for development of his microsurgical skills. Additionally, Dr. Barnwell has pursued interests in the biology of aging and its role in peripheral nerve regeneration. Dr. Barnwell is currently enrolled in graduate studies in the Program in Neuroscience.
