Otolaryngology Clinical Training

Preparing a graduate to go out into the world capable of practicing Otolaryngology in an independent fashion requires comprehensive exposure to a wide variety of pathologic processes, time to develop surgical skills, exposure to faculty to emulate strong physician-patient relationships and the ability to competently scrutinize medical literature. This experience is gained through exposure in the realms of clinical medicine and research.

We offer comprehensive clinical training, including:

The Otolaryngology residency training program at Wake Forest School of Medicine has been widely recognized as a high quality training experience for decades. This is due, in part, to our long history of having a very stable faculty structure with low turnover and having faculty with a keen dedication to teaching. Our goal is to train young physicians to be competent and compassionate practitioners. We do not have any preconceived desire to produce graduates who desire a single career path. We are equally proud of our graduates who have chosen to pursue a career in private practice, academic medicine, or advance into fellowship training.
