Alexandra Godfrey

Alexandra Godfrey, MS, PA-C, comes to Wake Forest from Michigan, where she trained as a PA at Wayne State University in Detroit and then practiced in emergency medicine at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. Before becoming a PA, Alexandra trained as a physical therapist in the United Kingdom, where she was born and raised. She worked in the British National Health Service for several years, with special concentration on critical care. She continued her physical therapy work in the United States at an ambulatory clinic, treating patients with diverse conditions ranging from sports injuries to multiple sclerosis. Alexandra has a keen love of language and literature. She combines this with her medical practice by writing narrative medicine essays for the national physician assistant journal, JAAPA, for which she also serves on the editorial board. She loves biking, kayaking, running, hiking, and climbing and is happiest when sharing these outdoor activities with her four rambunctious children and crazy husband.
