Student Health and Dental Insurance Policy

Students may sign up for Health and/or Dental insurance during the open enrollment period at the beginning of each respective academic year. The dates of the open enrollment periods will be communicated each year.

Once enrolled, the student will remain until graduation or completion of a cancellation form to cancel coverage.  Please note that all students are REQUIRED to have health insurance.

Once enrolled, students must remain on the plan for at least 6 months. If the student chooses to cancel the coverage, he/she will not be allowed to sign back up until the next open enrollment period, which will be at the beginning of the next academic year.

If a student chooses to not sign up for our insurance during the open enrollment period, he/she will only be allowed to sign up during the academic year if they have a qualifying event. Written documentation of the qualifying event will be required.

Qualifying events are defined as follows:

  • Birth of a child
  • Death of a family member
  • Marriage
  • Divorce
  • Aging off of parent’s policy
  • Spouse/parent’s loss of job/change of benefits

If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact your Registrar or the Cashier’s Office.
