The PA Class of 2016 receives their white coats
30, 2014, Wait Chapel on the Reynolda Campus of Wake Forest University was the
scene for the Wake Forest PA Program’s White Coat Ceremony for the Class of
2016. The 91 students—24 of whom make up the inaugural class for the Boone
campus—recited the PA Honor Oath, by which they commit themselves to treating
their patients with dignity and respect while providing quality medical care.
The students then received their white coats from members of the Class of 2015.
Family members and friends joined the PA program faculty and staff to celebrate
this important rite of passage, which included a welcome from PA Studies chair Reamer
Bushardt, PharmD, PA-C; a keynote address from medical director K. Patrick Ober,
MD; and concluding remarks from Robert Wooten, PA-C. A reception on Hearn Plaza
outside Wait Chapel immediately followed the ceremony.
